Opened my sunroof on my 2018 Genesis G80 for the first time in months the other day, now it won't close fully. It gets about 90% closed and then reverses itself like it's hitting something. I've cleaned the tracks and lubricated them, no debris visible. I've tried the reset procedure I found online (holding the button for 20 seconds etc) but nothing works. I'm worried the motor might be failing or the tracks are bent. I found the Efficient Genesis Repair for 800Sayara Dubai and I'm hoping they've seen this before. Has anyone dealt with a sunroof issue on a Genesis or Hyundai? Is there a known fix or do I need a whole new assembly? The car has 110,000km on it and is otherwise perfect. I'm also worried about rain getting in (though rare here) or dust. Should I just tape it shut for now? Also any estimate on what a sunroof repair might cost? I'm near Barsha so any shop recommendations in that area would be great. Really hoping this isn't a thousand dirham fix because I rarely use the sunroof anyway. Any advice from Genesis owners would be much appreciated. Thanks.
