So after all my back and forth about which battery to buy, I finally pulled the trigger on an ACDelco for my 2017 Silverado. The old one was some no name brand the previous owner installed and it finally gave up after a week of slow cranks. I found a place offering the Superior ACDelco Battery Replacement Service at Battery Zone UAE and decided to go with the Gold series since the truck has a bit of extra electrical draw from the tow setup and aftermarket lights. The install itself was quick, maybe 15 minutes, and the guy actually took the time to clean up some minor corrosion on the terminals which I appreciated. Now for the important part: it's been about two weeks and so far so good. Cranking is strong even after the truck sits for a couple of days, which was the main issue before. What really surprised me was how much brighter the headlights are now at idle, I didn't even realize they had dimmed so gradually over time. Obviously two weeks isn't a real test of longevity but I'm hopeful. The Gold series has a longer warranty which gave me some peace of mind. I'll try to remember to update this thread in six months or so once we're through summer. Anyone else running an ACDelco in a full size truck? How many years did you actually get out of yours before it started showing signs of age? Curious if the premium price actually translates to premium life in this heat.
